Obituary

Palmetto, FL, Alan E. Heine, passed away peacefully at his home in Palmetto Fl. on July 17, 2017, just five days short of his 80th birthday. Born in Palmer, July 22, 1936, he was the son of Paul and Julia Heine and grew up in the Palmer and Monson area. He graduated from Palmer High school, then went on to earn his bachelor degree at AIC College and his Masters Degree from the University of CT. He served 3 years in the USA Army Band. Alan was a math teacher in the Stafford Springs Middle School for 28 years before retiring. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Eleanore "Ellie" (Orszak), along with his daughter Julie Jarvis and her husband David of Springfield, MA, and son Karl and his wife Cindy of Hubbardston, MA, along with his grandchildren Kaitlin Carver and her husband Bryan, Christopher Heine, Kyle Jarvis,and Eric O'Conner. Additionally, his sisters Helen Mclaughlin, and Patricia Barlow survive him. Besides his parents, his son Eric and sisters June McKenny and Paula Roy predeceased him. In his leisure, he was an avid reader and volunteered at the Palmetto library. He had a deep appreciation of music, especially jazz and had formerly been an enthusiastic golfer. Services for Alan will beTuesday, August 8, with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 and a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. all at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
