Palmer - Ellen E.(Kennedy) Hebert ,99 , died on October 10, 2017 in East Longmeadow. Born April 2, 1918 in Spencer, she was the daughter of Walter M. and Frances (McComas) Kennedy. Ellen graduated from Athol High School and lived in Springfield for many years. She later returned to Athol, before relocating to Palmer several years ago. She worked as a clerk for a Drug Store in Athol for many years. She was a top bowler in a bowling league in the 1930s where the women wore high heels to bowl. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life. She will be deeply missed by her 4 children Marion Deyo (Jim) of Palmer, Robert Hebert (Gail) of NY, William Hebert (Maria) of Springfield, and Judith Sevigne (Jerry) of Indian Orchard, along with 11 grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Ellen was preceded by a grandson and 2 brothers. Services will be held on Friday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. preceding the service. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Shriner's Hospital, Carew St, Springfield.
